Depuis 1994, M.E.E.R organise des excursions sur des petits bateaux au départ du port de Vueltas in Valle Gran Rey, La Gomera. En 1995 ils ont débuté un programme de recherche scientifique et d'éducation du public. Les participants sont plongés dans le travail de terrain de la recherche sur les cétacés.

Ils travaillent à l’identification photographique individuelle du Globicéphale tropical, du Mésoplodon de Blainville, du Grand Dauphin et du Sténo rostré (Catalogue des observations des cétacés depuis 1995).

Already since 1994 daily whale & dolphin excursions are organized with small boats (which were formerly used for fishing), starting from the harbor Vueltas in Valle Gran Rey. These ‘dolphin trips’offered for locals and tourists, are an example for humans meeting these fascinating creatures in a respectful way. Since 1995 we have used the opportunity to compliment these regular trips with scientific research and public education. On this basis, the participants are provided with direct insight into both the practical work and the questions of modern cetacean research.
